This extremely clean and rare 1940 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe has had a frame off restoration. Known as the Torpedo bodies, the 1940 Cadillacs were streamlined and very eye catching! Painted back to factory Antoinette Blue with the Beige cloth interior takes this car back to original bone stock condition. The paint is excellent with great depth and shine and the chrome is clean and shiny. The drivetrain is period correct but it is unknown if the engine is the original to this car as they are not numbered. Options include the running boards, driving lights, jump opera seat, cloth interior, original AM radio, hub caps, wide whitewall tires, vent/heater/defrost, and clock. Some of these options make this car very rare, as if one of around 1,322 Series 62 coupes wasnt rare enough! Very well documented with copy of original Order Form from the Cadillac Motor Parts Division dated March 21,1940, pictures of the frame off restoration and the body on a rotisserie, original cowl tag, and receipts for the build. The 346 L head engine put out 135 horsepower through a 3 speed manual on the column. These cars ooze class with chrome accents everywhere you look, gold pinstriping on the wheels, Cadillac emblems on the grill, dash and hub caps, Cadillac lettering on the bumpers, and of course the flying lady hood ornament.
